Two miles west of Rapid City on
Hwy. 44 lies one of America's most beautiful caverns.
Crystals line 80% of the walls and ceiling. The tour
includes the remains of 1000 year old man as well as a
nature trail leading to a replica Indian Village.
Thunderhead
Underground Falls
Ten miles west of Rapid City on
Hwy. 44 - the scenic route to Mount Rushmore, lies a
spectacular underground waterfall 600 inside a mountain
in one of the oldest gold mines in the Black Hills. Back
in 1878, miners blasting their way along a quartz vein
encountered more than they bargained for when tons of icy
water at the rate of 8 cubic feet per second came rushing
down the tunnel. To this day it hasn't stopped!
Rushmore
Waterslide Park
For those looking for a little more
action, check out the Rushmore Waterslide Park three
miles out of Rapid City on Hwy 16 towards Mount Rushmore.
High speed Bonzai chutes and 400 foot long twisters will
have everyone sleeping well afterwards!
Reptile Gardens
A couple of miles on finds you visiting the
worlds largest collection of reptiles in a tropical dome
filled with birds, and plants as well as reptiles of
every kind. The pleasant gardens are also host to some
spectacular orchids and tropical plants as well as Bald
Eagles and other birds of prey along with a fine
collection of snakes and alligators etc. Also part of the
attraction is a birds of Prey show, alligator show, and a

Bear
Country USA
About seven miles along Hwy 16
you'll find Bear Country USA, the Black Hills only drive-through safari. Here
you can see bear, elk, bighorns and other North American
wildlife. A truly AWESOME adventure for all the family!

Cosmos Mystery Area
Sixteen
miles out of Rapid City on Hyw 16 and six miles before
Mount Rushmore, lies the Cosmos Mystery Area where balls
roll uphill and no one stands straight.

THE
BADLANDS
Just south of Interstate
90 between Rapid City and Sioux Falls, the Badlands
National Park with its jagged cliffs, deep canyons
and flat topped buttes provides one of the most stunning
geological displays on earth. A must for photographers!
